The Argentine democracy, choosing between radical and incremental change
Abstract
Desde la transición democrática de 1983, la dinámica política argentina ha experimentado cambios en dos ritmos. Por un lado, los gobiernos peronistas de Carlos Menem y Néstor y Cristina Kirchner adoptaron políticas que refundaron la economía y redefinieron los términos de la política pública al ritmo de los vaivenes regionales. Por el otro, el avance de los derechos individuales —tras el acto fundacional del juicio a las Juntas— ha seguido un ritmo más continuo a través de distintos gobiernos democráticos. Me pregunto aquí si estamos en una coyuntura crítica respecto a esta tensión entre los vaivenes radicales y la continuidad incremental respecto a la política pública, y trato de responder esta pregunta enfocándome en el papel del peronismo en la coyuntura actual.
