The challenges that threaten democracies lead us to reflect on the use of their principles, including government transparency. One method to address this task is to observe the language games of those who use the concept, a perspective based on Wittgenstein’s Philosophical Investigations. Based on it, this article analyzes the 2019 presidential debates in Argentina, where the strategic use of transparent information is investigated, delving into its usefulness to mislead with the truth. We conclude that the plurality of actors in charge of making the political transparent and the variety of transparent public affairs characterize the Argentine democratic regime, where the use of that information erects a struggle for factual truth, a connection that makes intelligible the struggles for political power.
