This research note aims to present a description of the most significant features of the XVI National Congress of Political Science titled “Politics under tension: challenges and dilemmas of democracies in an unstable world,” held at the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) in 2023. It provides an in-depth description of the latest gathering, covering various aspects of its development, participants, and central debates of the sessions. It also traces a historical overview of the symposiums organized by the Argentine Society of Political Analysis (SAAP), emphasizing the role they play in consolidating the political science community in Argentina. Finally, some concluding remarks will be provided along with future challenges for the discipline in our country.
