Abstract

Does the political composition of the parliamentarians in the Parlasur resemble the same panorama expressed in their respective national Legislative? This research uses descriptive statistics to compare the political landscape of the domestic and regional levels. It analizes variables political party plurality, women’s representation and ideology of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, between 2011 and 2014. Guided by the Decision CMC n. 28/10 and the Articles 2º and 6º of the Constitutive Protocol of Parlasur, the data, from the official websites, were collected and classified,to verify if the citizen representation, in progress in the Parlasur, is effective. As a result, the political composition in the Parlasur corresponds to the outlook expressed in the domestic level, which consolidates the regional citizen representation.
