Revision of sources of different origin about electoral caudillism related to the naturalization of immigrants at the beginning of the 20th century in the city of Buenos Aires. Focusing on the figure of Cayetano Ganghi, not only his importance is questioned but also the role attributed to illiterate immigrants (italians in his case), with whose help might have decided elections. In support of the thesis it is reminded, between other data, the quantity and nationality of the naturalized and the proportion that they represent between those enrolled.
