Keywords:

This paper compares Donald Trump’s populism with Latin America. The first section contrasts ruptures of the neoliberal consensus in Latin America with how Trump irrupted against the compromise of the elites of the Democratic and Republican parties that linked globalization with limited politics of multiculturalism. The second distinguishes different constructions of «the people». The third explores populist strategies in power.
