Abstract

The objective of this study is to conduct a psycho-political analysis of the local political cultures of the population from three cities from Argentina: Córdoba, Salta and Neuquén. It deepened in the description of some typical variables of cultural studies such as values, ideology, and religiosity, incorporating variables of a more micro-social nature such as political sophistication (political knowledge and political interest), political efficacy and modalities of political participation. A quantitative empirical study was carried out, on three independent probabilistic samples of N=445 18-to- 65 years old (M = 40.2) people each, from the three mentioned capitals. The three samples sum up 1335 participants. The results highlight the unique link that the citizens of each of these cities make with the political world.
