Escenarios sociales y participación política juvenil. Un repaso de los estudios sobre comportamientos políticos desde la transición democrática hasta Cromagnon
Keywords:
Youth, politics, political participation, youth studies, secondary schoolAbstract
The purpose of this paper is to explore how social sciences have recently addressed the social processes that have recently affected young people. We intend to incorporate new approaches to contemporary phenomena which may help understand the ways in which young people participate in society. The first sections briefly describes the main perspectives that social sciences in general, and youth studies in particular, have applied to investigate the relationship between the new generations and politics since the restoration of democracy in 1983. The paper then focuses on a comparative analysis of the impact of two events (the República Cromagnon nigthclub fire and the violent events in a school in Carmen de Patagones) which greatly impacted on the political practices and actions of young people attending secondary school in two education jurisdictions.
